ColdFusion is a Web Application Server that runs on a web server. It is currently compatible with Linux, Windows, Solaris and even personal web server on windows 98. It is a scripting tool that allows developers fast dynamic database application creation. It is a Database Language

OK, not a Database Language, but ColdFusion makes interacting with your database (Sybase, Oracle, MySQL, SQL, or Access) simple. Like ASP and PHP, ColdFusion can interact with Database using the standard SQL language
